Good work. I wish I had thought of beam mounting!
I am a little concerned about the effects of welding on the beam, but it may be fine.
I am pleased that you agree with my take on the handling improvement. The 22mm used on a race car would be excessive and probable unsafe on a road car. The traction is better because the front is not rolling as much.
