If either of my engines died, I'd hunt around for a suitable XR6 HP unit with lowish kays to replace it. A good and easy upgrade. The LPG gear would slip straight back on = more excellent and cheap motoring!
Having said that, the AU engine is a very strong one and I suspect I'll have long sold both cars in the years down the track before the engine in either needed replacing.
They are a great unit indeed!
