Default Re: Greens want fossil fuel car ban by 2030

Incentives, not bans.

This would be a policy that will punish low income people.

I know I can't afford a brand new car. Even if I could, do I want to?

Even if someone does get the car, in a rental good luck getting your landlord to put anything in to support an EV.
Jesus. I can't get my landlord to fix my front door so it will close.

When I lived in the city i could only park on the street in the last place I lived. No way to charge.
Prior to that there were 3 carports for 8 flats. Who gets the charger?

Now I live in the outback and I suppose I could run a cable out to the car, assuming it will plug into the wall and doesn't require a dedicated charger.

But I also could never go anywhere other than around town or to and from work. Only a tesla has the range (barely) to get me to the next down and back, which I do a few times a month.
Where am I going to get a quarter of a mil to spend on a car?
