If Detroit knew they would close the GMH Plant in Adelaide why didn't they sell GMH to the Australian Government in the first place?
We could still be making Holden's in Australia and all those people that worked there wouldn't have lost there jobs.

Why would the government have any interest in such a loss making industry in Australia? If private industry couldn't do it what hope does the government?
