It will be interesting to see these around. My biggest concern with these pick ups is that Chinese vehicle manufacturing is still pretty bad at quality control and reliability.
The Chinese local brands barely ever honour warranties, and imports into China simply wont (as was specifically said to me from Merc, BMW and Toyota dealers). So the speed at which reliability and known issues are addressed during new model roll outs are not to the speed most established brands can achieve.
I'm not surprised though about the tech jump, producing new tech is easy over there... but I'd be really concerned though about their quality levels. Not because the Chinese cant produce high quality stuff (they can and do), but simply because they will slash quality levels if it saves them cash without understanding the consequences. Its part and parcel of doing business over there.
