When you use blocks to lower the car you move the diff closer to the bump stops and a shorter damper will only reduce the travel even further. As the lower shock mount is pretty much inside the wheel you may be limited to 1.5 inch block with a 18" wheel. We have not used blocks as a way to lower the rear of a ute but using a shorter shock is not the way to go mate if your going to do this mod.
