Default Anyone put AU Throttle Body onto E-Series V8 ?

I have a 70mm throttle body off an AUIII XR8.

However the TPS plug is different, and the bolt patten of the TPS is different from the E-Series. Damn :(

So I'm wonder if there are any work arounds that people know of besides trying to find an AU and cut the TPS plug off the loom ? I doubt you can just buy the plugs ?

AU plug/start of loom won't suit E-Series electrics mate (not sure why).

Psycho Chicken recently fitted an AU t/b to his NC, and my EB has one too (albeit the 65mm one).

Both of us kind of hobo-ed our TPS connections. Rob drilled new holes into his t/b for the TPS to fit, while I just shoved mine in with a single screw (not recommended, although it works).

The TPS angle (the bit that goes into the TB that is) needs to be twisted a little as the AU's base angle for closed throttle is a little different. But I haven't done this.

NZ should be able to give you the lowdown on how to "properly" mate an AU t/b and E-Series TPS.

Dave, never call mine hobo in the same sentence as your's :P

Mine isn't 100% perfect, but it works good enough for me. I got the dremel out and made the holes bigger. As Dave said the blade isn't in the same position for closed. Once I got the holes big enough for the bolts I moved elongated them clockwise. Then it's just a matter of getting it on and fiddling til you get the right voltages out of it (.9 at idle, >4.5 at WOT).

Some people have had issues splicing the engine and auto TPS into the one. For some reason someone had done that to mine before I got it (full Ford service history, apprentice for sure) and it was running fine. So I spliced them into one again and haven't had any issues. [EDIT]Just saw you had a manual. Ignore me.[/EDIT]

It shifts a bit hard at times but otherwise it's fine. I could probably fix the shifting with a bit of fiddling but I'm the sort of guy who buys parts and leaves them off the car for months, let alone getting them working 100% when they're 98%.

I can grab you some pics if you want?

Oi, mine works too! :P

My voltages were off when I tested mine (my TPS blade angle not touched as I mentioned) but I cannot remember the voltages I had sorry.

I have a picture on the forums somewhere of my TPS setup but I can't find it sorry. I do have the pic at home on my laptop though so if I remember tonight I'll post it up.

Just had mine on the dyno again chasing a fuel issue, the 65mm TB might not be the best idea with stock heads and cam. My manifold vac is very low. Not even getting 1 inch of mercury. Which in turn probably isn't pulling as much air through the MAF, which might be helping my lean issue.

lol 1 screw in the TPS sounds highly ghetto.

Sounds like what I might need to do though.. BPT are checking to see if they can hunt down a plug for me.

Just wouldn't mind getting it on before my new tune gets done tomorrow night... So much for a straight forward job.

Maybe I should of just brought a BBK 70mm or something hahaha.
