Default Melbourne wreckers, places to buy?

Hey guys im trying to chase down an AU XR6 non vct motor for my car, theres none around here in bendigo, does anyone here know places in melbourne where I might get one? I know theres FTG but I feel their prices are always absurdly high. Even for wreckers.

I still reckon you'll struggle to find an this motor in time man, just get a stock AU motor and find a Tickford head later down the track, you'll be better off because then you can get more work done to it before it goes on.

For some reason many wreckers have been putting prices up so high it makes my heart skip a beat. For a 12 year old A/C compressor a wrecker in queanbeyan (next to ACT) wanted $180. BAH seeya.

Yeah but most wrecker places and tossers! A Ford wreckers down here wanted $60 - $70 for 1 seatbelt, I got a complete EL set for $80 off a mate instead!

I find the forums For Sale area to be the cheapest place to buy parts.

Gee thats cheap they obviously havent followed suit with the ACT knobs.
I wanted 1 drivers seat belt and they said "sure thing that would be $100".....beep beep beep (my phone has been doing alot of hang ups lately)
They seem to think everyone in the ACT works for the public service or the defence force earning $120k +.

although I had to buy a worn clutch pedal rubber for $5.

Allford in Melbourne wanted $550 for an EL Fairmont bonnet. They also think that sports exhausts ruin engines. 'Nuff said.

Also when you ring around, most wreckers already know what you're looking for as it's all advertised on their ridiculous parts radio thing (which you usually hear in the background).

Allford are a rip. They used to be alright but now they just plain rip you off at any chance possible.
