Ohhh thats nice - hmmmm will I buy one I won't I

I know its HPC coated and thats also why the high price of them but I have some piping ready to fit but unsure what difference heat soak would make

getting one made at an exhaust shop, and the coated later would save u about 100 bucks id say.

The exposed pod is not the best idea though, As the victorian law states the air filter must be enclosed in a box and also it would suck in engine bay heat

Unless you have it heat shielded it will suck in the hot air from the engine bay, there's no two ways about that. Comparing a race car to a street car also doesn't quite work here, how often does a track car sit in traffic or bumble along at low speeds? Of course on a track car that is constantly running at speed cold air is going to constantly be coming in to the pod, this is not the case on a road car.
