Steve, are you upgrading the rear brakes as well?

13" rotors. 4 pots.
It is a kit put togther specifically for the Focus by TCE Performance in the US.(With a lot of great reviews from other Focus owners)
Not upgrading the rears at this point.
Not many people realize the original LR Focus RS had Brembos in front, but exactly the same rear brakes as the Zetec.
At some point I may upgrade the rears to ST170 spec, which involves a slightly larger disc, but the same calipers as the RS and Zetec.
Not high on the priority list.

As for "are they too big?", I looked up Wikipedia and it said "See Velociraptor"

Well you know what they say.... "Bigger is better". Besides there is no point added all thoses horses if you can't stop them.

As to the rear brakes. Can you get matching Wilwood onces for the LR? I know with the LS nobody does them becasue the hand brake is built into the caliper which apparently is unusual.I'm guessing the LR has a similar setup as the LS?

I think it's similar.

Todd at TCE sells a rear kit, but it doesn't include calipers. It simply adds bigger discs and relocation brackets

Wilwood does make a combination caliper but I'm not sure it will fit, and I don't think it will be as good as the stock setup

I was actually aware that the RS had Front Brembos (I've got a Poster of an LR RS that I drool over every day) but didn't know about the rear brakes. That's interesting.

Next time we meet up you must get me into that front passenger seat for a ride!

Hey, over 1000 posts Eddie. Way to go!

The front passenger seat has your name on it Eddie.

And in a week or two's time it will be a very nice front passenger seat......but that will be teaser photo No.2!

Looks like you're going to have some nice stopping power, although quite necessary when you're going a lot faster with that Ford Racing head! Who will you use to do the brake upgrade?

I'm looking forward to seeing that upholstered leather interior.

Will the front brake upgrade also require an upgrade of the master cylinder?

No the master cylinder is fine.

This is a kit put together for the Focus, and has been fitted to a large number of Focus' in the US with no master cylinder issues.

The only additional need is to fit ST170 knuckles and hubs in order to allow the fitment (and I have those)

DZ, I'll probably get Hitek Brakes in Moorabbin to fit them

That's where I got my brakes from, they're really good there.
