I cant answer why, but i see the difference in the very bottom bit, so your not crazy i can see it too.
There is a line about half way which goes from the wheel across at the level of the first 'lip' on the white car, and a slightly different lowest part, the white car's looks joined, where yours doesnt and it is a slightly different shape.

I have a question. On your car (or the one you posted in the aforementioned thread) SVT8, there is a 1" extension on the very bottom of your front bumper... WTF is that? My car hasnt got it, and alot of early e-series do. What car did it come on, and why doesnt mine have one?

(Sorry if not making much sense, got a little too friendly with Johnnie Walker tonight)

Im pretty sure its just a fairmont thing...
The white ED had a sprint front bar, yours is the fairmont one... as opposed to mine which is just the standard Falcon...

True. I have an unpainted one on my Ghia. The rear bumper is also grey right at the bottom to match the front

Another post to confirm that mini lip thingy is normal. My EB1 Ghia has one, however the bumper is pretty mashed :P Tis a 2-piece lip, as OED666's picture shows (if you look carefully)

Yep. That's what saved mine when I pranged the car. The bumper was ripped in half, with half of the front lip attached to each side of the bumper! Just took it off the old debris and bolted it to the new bumper
