Nice example, but very expensive. I'm sure you could do better if you look around through private sales.

Whatever you do don't buy it relying on a warranty, its CarCity, their the dodgiest dealers in OZ, the warranties aren't worth the paper their printed on, bought my first car from there (EA GLI) a few years back, found out afterwards that it had a blown head gasket, not covered by warranty, cost me $950 before I drove it for more than 5 minutes! And I did have it inspected and gasket wasn't picked up so i was stuck with it! My advice have it thoroughly checked out before even considering it!

It looks alright. A little bit expensive.

You would be surprised how slow stock E-series V8s are.

Werd!

Other than the sound, I'd probably swing the I6 route if I had to choose again...

I'm doubting if it is a true ghia... the badge on the garnish is in the wrong place, and there are ghia badges stuck on the glove box lid...

ghia bits and pieces aren't too hard to come by... i reckon its a tarted up fairmont

Big Deal it has some wheels on it, haven't you already got a nice set of rims DaFish - why waste money doubling up.....

The rims may have been $2k when new but they are 2nd hand now so thats about $1k worth of wheels and $4k for the car.

You can get an EF or EFII or EL V8 Ghia (leather) for around $6k with wheels.........

Unfortunately mate, it's a bit of a buyers market out there at the moment, especially when it comes to the large cars - particularly eights.

Fantz's was for sale for around that price recently. Dunno how much Sunny bought it for but that's their business I spose. Anyway, there's an example of a decent EL Ghia V8 (ignoring the kms) for $6k

Looks nice, neat etc. I wouldn't buy though with those km's for that many $$. I think around 4k maybe.

That car doesn't count. It's done like 1 million kays, and didn't have a roadworthy or proper door trims and no stereo. It couldn't even rip a skid on command. :

J/K Sunny :

Try picking up a nice EL Ghia V8 with less than 200K's like mine or Blackout's for 6k. If you can do that I'll shut up

think MUCH lower.. i sold it for less than i've seen some EB I6's advertised for. even with no door trims or RWC it was the biggest bargain price in history. yeah it had a few issues but for a few hundred, all could be rectified. the difference was i hate having something for sale for years, with time wasters umming and arring about the product.. i sold it very cheap, to sell it very quick.

oh and HAHAHAAHAHAHA at the asking price of that EB. i sold the el way cheaper than that. plus, wouldn't it be running spacers for those wheels ? who knows.

Wheels don't add squat when buying a second hand car of that age with 220,000ks. The dealer would have paid $1500 - $2000 MAX 4 that car. The dealer prob put those rims on through contacts that he has for practically nothing. It's a buyers market when it comes to v8s these days. It does look nice. I would pay 4 grand MAX for it. It may take you a walk out or 2, but I think 4 grand would eventually get the deal done. Remeber, dealers don't ordinarily look at mods that YOU'VE done when offering a trade amount to YOUR car. They look at redbook, come up with a price. A 92 EB with a 10 grand stereo would still get a similar trade in price to a 92 EB without that 10 grand stereo. if mods don't work on your end, why should they with the dealer?? You've got to be quick witted with dealers and play the same game they do.
