Gday all,
I am after some info on changing the 06 LX focus spark plugs. I have a set of NGK laser iridiums - ITR6F13. I havent even popped the hood yet to check this out but from memory you take off the big plastic cover and then you have simple access to the plugs. Does anyone know the torque setting for the plug into the head? I will be using anti sieze on the threads . Has any body got any tips or bad experiences that may help with the job... Im thinking its pretty straightforward. I will also be changing the airfilter and while Im at it Ill pull the MAF sensor out and clean that as well. |

all I can say is be sure not to cross thread the plugs in the head will screw it up - that said tho I have never done plugs in a focus and as for torque settings I have always nipped them up by hand then give them a 3/4 turn with a ratchet to crush the washer thing on the plug - never had any problems doing it this way thus far - but I have not done this on a focus these are general guidelines ;)
you most likely know this... but somebody may not

The spark plugs in the Focus dont use a gasket, they have a conical seat.
They should be torqued down to 12Nm, if you dont have access to a torque wrench then about 1/4 of a turn will do. And as shepv8 said watch out for cross threading. |
