Hey there everybody,
I need your help. Recently I've started to lose lots of power from my EF Futura and I think its got to do with the clutch. *I THINK* Its not slipping bad at all but it has started to over the last week. I'm not just talking about takeoff power but general power right throughout the rev range in each gear its really bumming me out. Maybe it could be my oil too, cause it hasnt been changed in a long time maybe that could be causing the power drop too perhaps? I need ideas please! Thanks in advance.

I would start by adjusting the clutch cable and change the oil.

So you reckon I will have to adjust the clutch again so its more closer but not too close as before where I need to put my foot to the floor to change gears? Yeah I think the power started to drop after the clutch was adjusted. Thanks!

to c if ya clutch is any good drive up a big hill and put it in a low gear and floor it, if it rev's with out the car goin any faster ya clutch is out of adjustment or ****ed. the oil thing could do it but it would be more of noisy or the engine not runnin smooth for that. could be plugs or anything causin it.

yeah definately try adjusting your clutch so that it engages a bit lower down

How could a broken clutch or a cable out of adjustment cause a drop in power????

Danny: cause it wouldn't be fully engaging. ie slipping = loss of power delivery. The power is still there just not getting to the wheels.

i reckon a the zorst should be tainted with as well. Did you get that done at the same time?
I reckon, correct me if im wrong but pipes that big on a stock engine would cause quite a-bit-of-a-drop in power?

^^^ I heard that too, too much back pressure of back flow or something 2-2.5" is normal for N/A, 2.75" is sutiable for a modded N/A, 3" and above are usually for turbo cars etc

yer, spoke to my zorst man today bout my upgrade. and he reckons on a stock low comp V8 3" will be killing it. espec dual 3".

please tell me its a v8. and not a dual 3" on a 6.
