Default AU3 Futura Wagon

Hey guys, just wondering if people can assist me a little. I've recently purchased an AU3 Futura Wagon, and its got things that I thought futuras didn't have, such as rear elec windows, and chrome strips in the door moulds and bumpers, and the same factory alloys as my Series 1 AU Ghia.

I am thinking that maybe because its a series 3, that the futuras got some extras? Or maybe Ford just filled it with all the left over bits before the change to BA?

Its a dedicated LPG Vehicle too, if this makes any difference.

Any info you guys can provide would be much appreciated

Cheers

Geoff

Yup, all sounds pretty standard for a series 3.

Hi Geoff.

My AUII Futura has alloys, 4 power windows and chrome in the mouldings. Maybe because it is a 75th anniversary model?

Yeah 75th anniversary would be different I imagine.

I've seen series 3 fortes that have none of the stuff mentioned, so is it a standard thing for a S3 futura to have so many ghia options?

I'm used to EF/EL where futuras had basically no options lol

You mean like this one?

Photographed a couple of years ago. You can see my Liquid Silver AUII Fairmont wagon with car trailer in the background.

I've now graduated to an AUIII Fairmont Wagon and that picks up some of the Series II Ghia goodies like six way electric drivers seat and the same wheels.

Similarly the AUIII Futura picks up some Series II Fairmont goodies like rear electric windows and the same wheels as well as the chrome grille mouldings that my Series III Fairmont has.

It seems everything gets passed on down the line ...

I thought the red one might have been yours too. Mine has all the chrome strips in the doors and bumpers like this Fairmont has...

Thanks

I prefer the sparkling burgundy colour, pretty sure we will paint it sparkling burgundy lol.

These wheels will be sold on the S1 Ghia we have, because it currently has Azzuros on it, and I want to keep those. Will try find BA mags of some description for the wags
