i just finished putting a ED 4.0L in my EA and it wont start, it has spark(a shot up the arm feels good lol) so i pulled the injector rail out and sat it there and cranked the engine and it seems the injectors are clicking but no fuel is coming out, they are wet on the end though. so i tried a different set of injectors and fuel rail but no difference. it seems the fuel isnt going past the regulator. i tried bypassing the regulator but it made no difference. i cant think of anything that would be causing this. one thing though is the alternator has no belt cause i lost it could this be causing it? please help

What was the car before you changed the motor? a CFI or MPI?
If it was a CFI you need to change the Fuel Pump and Fuel Relay. Did you chnage the Fuel Filter? It may be clogged with junk? Is there Fuel coming out of the Main Fuel line? The alternator belt wont be an issue until you get it to fire?

yeah fuel pump is working it was MPI injected

oh and yeah there is fuel coming out of the main fuel line, it's just not coming through the regulator.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but fuel returns to the tank through the regulator. Sounds to me like the hoses are *** about, did you take them off?

yeah i took the fuel lines off, i thought that the line with the filter in -main line it goes to the bottom of regulator, and the other line goes straight to the injector rail -return line, i will go and swap them over.

yeah, should squirt once you swap them around. The fuel regulator remains closed, once the pressure in the rail reaches it's specified pressure then (with vacuum assistance) it opens and releases pressure by sending excess fuel through the return line, back to the tank.
