Hi,
I was out saturday night listening to the VLT talk ups, and i was wondering what would be needed to get the falcon 6 into the 9s.. Ive seen the EA do 10.5 with the 3 speed, but is that the quickest I6 out there?? What would be needed?? I see these falcons with 400+ rwkw, so surely with the right suspension and grip they would come close??

just the tranny and rear end.. Don't forget the 10.5 is done on a stock bottom end... Not that rebuilt would make more power but would give the scope to wind the boost up in search of the bigger HP numbers.
GFD Im quite a regular at Willowbank and would see a handful of 10 second cars,, and I have never seen a VL.. I know the VL's do own, they have a few years head start on R&D don't forget. But I am yet to see a sub 10 sec VL in QLd so my guess is the BroadwaterCarpark clowns can read magazines like the rest of us..

i know a few qld VLT's who make the run to sydney who are high 9's and low 10's go to calaisturbo the qikest is around 8 sec highs to low 9's and easy 10's that says alot though we do have X series rides pushing 10's and im sure one does 9's but im unsure :P |

yeh i know theyve had 10+ years more, and an off the floor car with a turbo, but the fact is there are VLTs running in the 8s, and i just wanna see an e-series match it, or do better.
The setbacks i see are the wieght unfortunately. But if a stock bottom end can run a 10.5, surely there is scope for a few more seconds?? What power figure are we looking at?? I just laugh at narrow minded holden fans bragging about the nissan motor that got them fast times.

yea but the cars running 8's are beit full house drag cars with a redgo plate.. Full tubs, half if not full chassis, NOS to spool the turbs... No one has gone all out like that with an E series car..

Sounds like you are stepping up to the plate there Bosstd. I'd really like to see someone go mad with decent times in an EF. Actually, my mate Cossie who has a turbo EF is probably stupid enough to go that hardcore. He has pured plenty of money into the project thus far, I might rattle his cage a little and see if I can get him to spend some money on NOS. Although, I'll have to get him to replace the headgasket first.

Isnt there a EF with a ba xr6t driving it, that has got pretty close to the 9's didnt it? I'm not sure if the car is actually around, my uncle told me about it and he talks it up quite a bit...

I'm pretty sure that there is only one XR6T to bust into the 9's, so the odds of someone getting the same sorta times outa an EF are pretty slim. Won't say it cant happen though.

theres one BA for sale here somewhere that did a 9.8 or something. But again, these are motors made for the Ts.
I would love to see one of these 4 litres, decompressed, 24lbs of boost, nos and driveline, fuel and suspension to suite...

Fuel delivery would want to be very custom as a/r on that stuff is 6 to 1...Or there abouts..Taking sway bars etc off helps too..

I can think of a couple who will have a crack real soon. The JMM Turbo will be one to watch once it gets the race setup...definately a 9sec car. TUFED6 is also a potetial 9sec car. After Easter i'm gonna setup to go racing...fit up the auto and 9inch, and do some suspension changes and see how quick i can go. But the humble E-series can definately go with the VL T's....dont worry about that!

My auto is ready and waiting at Keas. Just waiting for the bellhousing, which is being made by a company in Geelong. Apparently its a stronger C10 style bellhousing, supposed to be a fair bit better than the Dellow product. But being a prototype its taking a while. :(
After that, just need to get a tailshaft made up and retuned for race gas, then its game on. - John |

oh man, 460rwkw??? JESUS...
EASPRINT, that is a huge rear housing? when does it spool up? I can see a few of you getting there, im excited now.. Never knew there were so many race setups on the way. Ive seen some big HP I6s, but they have all been dyno queens. Its good to see some falcs getting ready for the qtr.. Im excited. Looking at the car on fullboost... Interesting to see hes gone the earlier E series intake manifold?? Whats the go with that? But 395rwkw and a 10 second pass, thats a good sign i think.

cool... gonna go a huge stally???
ive got the 1.06 but mines spooling up a little late.. needs a proper tune though.. with the 2800 stall, it stalls up, then hits boost about 400rpm later and then goes spastic(sideways).. thats with a 3.08. You going C4?
