Default Hooning Laws! Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

watching the local news at 6 tonight only to hear that the fine blokes at shepparton police are looking forward to impounding the cars of hoons as of the 1st of june or july (not sure which). now please, please correct me if im wrong but the new law actually states that it is at the officers descresion as to what is hooning. so our state govenment is saying that if you have p-plates and pull away from the lights quicker than the car in the other lane they will take my car for 48hrs(1st offence) 3 months(2nd offence) and permanently for a 3rd? i have two subs in my car and am driving past the local criuse spot. hooning? driving my car on a friday night on my p's. hooning?

we need something setup to get the cops off our backs as they "are looking forward to the new laws coming in..." a regular event (once a fortnight or so) in the major areas. ie shepparton, wangaratta, ballarat etc. not just for fords, for all car enthusiasts.

how do i go about setting up a local event?

help desperatly wanted and needed!

I support the local boys to get the crap cars off our roads.

Having spent a fair amount of time in Shepparton there is a hoon mentality that needs to be stomped on.

Mind you there are a fair amount of decent cars.

Dont see a problem if the road laws are obeyed, and the car is roadworthy.

Don't hoon... it's simple. Particularly coming from Shep with the DECA centre so handy you have no excuse.
If you get your car impounded perhaps you might learn.
Oh, driving like a d1ckhead on a public road isn't a sport.

DECA has a purpose built burnout pad which we are not allowed to use unless it is an event. not like we can hire it out. and they hate having the springnats coz cars do stationary burnouts and put indentations in the concrete which they havent replaced for two years anyway! this is y i need help. how do i convince a heap of money hungry suits to let us use the stuff that they have said no to before?

Well, find out who is having these events and organise to lobb in. You are just giving weak excuses for stupid and illegal behaviour rather than trying to find a proper solution. Start your own club... get a group ( if not a club ) together and lobby local business and local governement for funding for a facility.. get someone to hire out some land and get something made.

Complaining about laws designed to stop dumb driving will get you absolutely no where... in fact.. they are long overdue.

this is wot im tryin to do. organise a regular event but i dunno how to go about it. and the only event that uses the burnout pad is the springnats in november

Numbers is the game ... get people together and start something. If there is a local car club get into it and drag as many people as you can into it. You'll never beat 'the suits' head on so you need to take away their complaints .. ie: take it off the streets.
Get to Heathcote for the drags ( its a long way from anywhere but it's a great facility ), find out who is on at DECA ... getting the bad behaviour off the streets will get the cops off your backs.

GTHOFAN: all areas for the locals to go and strut their stuff legally
LAMINGE: yes we are the hoon capital of the state but it aint as bad as the media make it out to be! not like every 5th car is pullin a skid at the lights!

the key word is 'looks' stock.
your AU really does look factory ordered (yes i'm aware of the lowered and tail lights) but they are only subtle mods.

in reality, the more crazy looking cars get the cops attention more, and it does make a difference.

hit cruise/hoon hot spots at the right time and you risk being pulled over, its as simple as that.
i've reguarly been on princess highway of an evening on friday and saturday nights, plenty of times i've seen random cars be pulled over for no apparent reason.

my car doesn't cop a 2nd look either, but i think its only a matter of time till i get pulled over randomly.

you may not be doing anything stupid, but the other people in those hot spots do, and yes, they ruin it for the rest of us.
but thats life!

so the cops did a random roadworthy on a car.. that was stock... and passed.. and they just let him go on his way without any issue?
Oh my god, what has the world come to when logic like "random roadworthy's" passing roadworthy cars happens? :
