Hey peoples...
Soon to be ordering superlow Kings springs for my ED XR6. Was thinking though that I should get ultralows just for the rear. I really don't like its sits up higher than the front. Has anyone else done this? Is this advisable? |

i have superlows all round on my ED, with the scraping problems i get i would not advise you to get ultras on the back however it would LOOK awesome.
the superlows are legal within a mm or something eb5speed sussed it out a while ago, so the ultras would score you a defect

Just put superlows in all round and a couple of 12" thumpers in a box in the boot to even the height out! Works for me! And yes Ultras will get you defected....

You're measured from the lowest part of your car and have to be 100mm maximum.....I don't scrape on anything with my superlows and thumper box!

but wouldnt the lowest part be the diff? and would a cop really crawl under my car on the roadside on a cold night to measure that? i have seen a cop simply measure ground to bottom of front bar... does anyone know exactly what they are told to measure?

SL in most applicants is illegal so you'r allready stuffed:P go UL's mate it will look horn just slow down for speed hump's and drive way's you might have an issue with the tail shaft hitting the floor but i think it's only wen you'r giving it some and speeding over bumpy road's deppend's on you'r shock's to |

New springs I assume? Go ultra's in the rear for sure. XR-6000 has some in his EB, and it's pretty much a legal height. I cant say yours will be for sure though, because mines on un-cut superlows in the rear, and mine is about 10mm under legal at the sills.

I'm thinking of going lower at the back, because it sits just a touch higher than the front.

Be careful with putting Ultra Lows in though...coze some people's cars sit nice with just super lows in...I tried Super Low first, relized it sat like a 4x4 and handles like a boat, then changed them over to Ultra Lows. Thanks for the compliment too man!

Hmm...well...the XR6 has better shocks right? For it's apparently lower than standard height. So would this then have an effect on the lowering. Or is everyone going to tell me to replace the shocks as well...coz in that case shorter shocks in the front would only require 'low' and not 'superlow'...In the past I have just replaced the springs with Superlows and had original shocks (both Commodores mind you)...

ultr lows are sweet, and make an ride look tuff , but
the *** will bounce unless you put heavey duty shocks, The lowest part will be your towbar, the bar that goes under your spear tyer and fuel tank if you have a towbar. 100mm the lowest point no matter were it is, eg body kit, diff, sump. hope that can help |

legal clearance height is 130mm, 13cm. The technical rule is, the lowest point in the car (eg dif, whatever) must be at least 13cm off the ground with a FULL LOAD of people. This rule isn't heavily enforced, if it were there would be a lot of defected cars around. Keep the guard around the height of the tyre and you'll generally be fine.
When i was getting springs done in the BF XR, i measured the height from the lowest point, and discovered even while UNLOADED, no one inside, putting sl's on makes it illegal. So unless you stick with low's only, it's defectable. And that's borderline too when fully loaded.

I have Superlows in the front, Ultra lows in the rear with super heavy duty short shaft shocks front and rear. Never had a problem. The ride is firm but not over the top.
If you do things properly, you won't have any issues.

Yeah my original idea...SL at the front...UL at the rear. But after seeing XR-6000s car and the height that it is, I'm inclined to go the ULs. Still got about a week to decide...
