Default Badge help

Hey guys.

I took of my xr6 and tickford badges last night (kerry you can stop cheering now..lol), and it looks mighty fine with nothing there, but I was a doush and used a butter knife to pry it off and I chipped the crap out of the RHS.

So, I can either put back just the ticky wings; which I wouldn't mind. Or I was thinking that maybe I could put some AU ones. I think they had some half decent looking SOHC ones from memory.

Does anyone have any pics/suggestion about the AU badges?

Here a couple of pics, I dicked the RHS up, the LHS is pretty good though. I used the fishing line trick for the left! Anyone who is unsure how to take badges off USE FISHING LINE...lol

As it stands the ticky wing covers up almost all the chips on the RHS. Im telling you whoever did this paint job sucks because I barely touched it.

And who wanted my xr6 badges? Ive lost your PM sorry.

Put the Tickford badge back on, you'll lose power without it.

yeah it was a bad idea, but I get impatient and all the outdoor shops were closed at the time...lol

If I do put the tickford ones back on they will be alot higher up than usual, it might look a bit goofey if you know what I mean.

AU Badges have 'Intech' written on them though, and your car doesnt have an Intech engine - at least with Tickford badges you can sorta get away with it.

yeah the xr6 badges did look good, but I was getting sick of trying to explain to people what my car was. In the end I actually told some dumb ***** it was a genuine XR6; they didn't have a clue.

I plan to get a high-series garnish aswell, so if someone wants the XR6 one then I am up for a swap.

Has anyone got an EB S rear badge? I like the look of them and thats about the only badge that would explain my car. You know the ones with the blue S not the red one.

Kerry if you want the badges im sure we can work something out...in that pic they actually have some polish still on them from the AFD..lol Ill tidy them up and post another pic.

Ahhh that crap, Holden has that shit too. I wonder if it works on AU engines running EEC IV.

I think strictly speaking it refers to the cylinder deactivation thing.

On the original topic, Poly you might find touch up paint is another option.

when i put a new Fairmont Ghia Badge in my rear Garnish i used a jewlers screw driver to lift it up slowly then when there was enough room i slid a bigger screwdriver in to pry it off. i also used a cloth so nothing got damaged.

Yeah you're a doush bro. You could have at least covered the end of the butter knife with a cloth before going hack. The only badge you won't get flamed for putting on there now is a 3.9MPI one, so do that or put the ones you took off on!

Nah it's not that for sure. I'm pretty sure it was just coz the engine was sick and they need a sick name.

I had to take a Falcon S badge off my GL garnish and that took ages to prise off using a flat screw driver. By the end I wasn't in the best of moods and the S badge was in multiple pieces, but I think it had been superglued on or something.

Using a butter knife was just stupid. How did you expect to not **** your paint?

Use a heat gun or even some of big kevs goo remover to soften the sticky stuff and fishing line or something flat to pry it off much unlike a butter knife with jagged edges.

And take your time, taking an extra 30 minutes is better than paying to fix panels and get laughed at by the panel beater when you tell him you used a butter knife to debadge your own car.

Well I didn't actually scratch anything for a while, then as you do, you go for a little bit more and then youve gone to far.

Im not really concerned about the chips as the worst side is getting resprayed as a lady backed into my drivers side door a while ago, still haven't got around to fixing it yet as I spent the cash on a stereo...lol

When I find a high-series garnish Ill just do the same to the rear badge, there is nothing to scratch on them atleast.
