does anyone know how much more it would cost to make it complete in an e-series. (installation, computer, ect.) i think it would cost a fair bit after all these costs are considered.

Add at least $500 for all of the accessories. $2500-$5000 for an ECU to be fitted and tuned so the car can run. $1500 for cheap ECU that wont do VCT + install. $3500ish for a motec M600 to run VCT + install. Using the stock ECU is still an option by the looks of things using an EDIT to play with the settings to allow it to run the engine only. So add whatever an EDIT and retune costs + wiring in of the stock ECU.

Well do you think 2 cams and more power out of the box is worth an extra $4500 over another EB engine?
You have to add engineering costs into that equation as well. Using a stock ECU might let you avoid the expensive emission tests but I think if you use an EDIT to let the stock ECU work then they will want to test your emissions anyway. Add another $2K.

hey people, reckon that the standard EF computer had a chance at running this? Obviously the cam timing and throttle control are out of the question, but putting the EF coil packs to use on this should yield some good results. A couple of vernier cam gears would take care of cam timing just as good as most of thos jap guys do too...
thoughts? the only real problem I can see other than actual mapping of the computer is whether or not the crank angle sensor is the same... cya Ben |
