Just wanted to know how many of you... Put heat shielding or wrap on there headers 2 keep the engine bay temp down??
I have trouble putting the stock one back on when i got my headers. So i just put an AU one on!! anyone do this??

i havent even got extractors but i've seen a fair few people on here use AU heat sheilding. kinda a good way to hide them from the cops! too bad you cant do the same for insurance companys!

I managed to get the stock EA one back on with perry extractors, I have also given it a polish.

Naa..i just went 2 the wreckers and got an AU one!! much better than the EF ones, as the AU heat shield cover the 6cyl unlike the ef/EL's

Be careful with what you use and how thick it is. Old water pipes used to have a layer of insualtion wrapped around them. Well, turned out it was thicker than the critical radius and the heat loss actually went up.

au heat sheild can be easly bent and modifyed to suit most exctractors

you can buy ACL heat sheilding on ebay for ~$50. one sheet (30x60cm iirc) will do a set of extractors easy. makes a big difference to underbonnet temps. i was worried once i melted my first brake booster (damn plastic EFs)

There is a guy on the other forums who is making a custom heat shield and he has calculated that it is going to cost between $120 to $150 per heat shield depending on the numbers he gets to buy them........
