crimp the fuel lines either side of the filter.

the manual says to remove the fuel pump fuse and crank it over a coupla times to relieve fuel pump pressure then change it. whatever leaks out is not worth worrying about

Mate, undo your fuel cap. The reason the fuel is coming out of the fuel lines because there is about 8-10psi of fuel pressure in the lines remaining after turning off your vehicle.
Undo the fuel cap will release the pressure and the only fuel the will leak out will be the fuel filter and a few drops from the lines.

Or just wait 15mins or so for the excess fuel pressure to bleed off.
