Sure about that? You already have pretty low springs in there at the moment. You should be able to just pull them out.

Nope! I put Lows in my car WITHOUT spring Compressors. Just get a mate to hold the spring and "spring cap" down as you tighten up the bolt on the top of the shocker when you go to put them back in

are you sure ? My car has lovells lows and they basically fall outta their seat when i jack the car up high enough, i know the back ones do, Just get a mate to help ya pull em down, if needed. Sunny and Kenaz didn't use spring compressers to lower his car and it was stock EL Ghia Height. Kinda High.

Good luck.

mine is superlow at the moment.. i have the koni struts, and when i put the spring in it the spring is about 2 inches above the top of the strut...

the biggest problem is trying to get a hold of the rubber seats tomorrow.. the car is on stands at the moment, and i take off to barwon heads tomorrow morning for a few days.. my mechanic cousin says it wont matter that the bottom of the rubbers are buggered.. if worse comes to worse ill put em back in.. but if i can i want to put em in new whilst they are apart..

i'll just nick off to supercheap in the morning and see what a pair of compressors are worth.. im putting pedders sportsryders in it..

oh and i've got a set of 4 monroe gt's for sale if anyone is interested.. i might be selling the superlows as well... maybe...

it all depends on the sping/shock combo whether you need compressors. I needed them for my car and i have superlows. They don't cost much so you may as well just get them....that way when the cops defect you later for being too low, you can get another use out of them :P

Yeah good point sphell, i thought they were quite expensive for something he probably won't need.

Like Doug said, it all depends on the size of the spring and shock.

Damo, we didn't need coimpressors on Ash's car because Superlows are really short and and the standard shocks are long, so it's a piece of ****. If he went to lows or standard height again you'll definitely need compressors.

Don't assume stuff :P Best to get it done right the first time and not pull shit apart only to find you need more stuff to get the job finished. Usually if you are raising a car, you'll need compressors. Rattle guns always help with compressors, springs are usually ****s to compress and decompress.

At my mate's place when changing the springs on his mum's EF, to help compress the spring on the shock we initially used his EA -- and part of the carport structure...

Take 2 consisted of a sturdy doorway (in garage), laying down the spring + shock, and using a scissor jack horizontally. It worked in the end, but I wasn't the stupid **** who was doing it, I was one of the smart ones who had a beer in their hand & benignly watched

Hope these dodgy tips help!

Tip #3, don't do tip #1 (EA as battering ram against carport), unless you want the spring to land in the next suburb...

okay boys, been away the last few days.. heres an update..

i put the rears in.. pretty low...
i put the fronts in and they were 4x4 height..
so car looked like a boat.. my mechanic cuz thought that maybe the control arms were stuck so we could take it for a spin.. booted it out of my driveway and ripped the rear bar off... so now that is in my garage waiting to be fixed...
drove the car to pedders to get their sinopsis.. told me the wrong springs were in and that they ****ed up..

took them out again.. brought them back to pedders, put the right springs in... put them back in the car.. front is pretty good... buttt... now back is 10mm lower than the front and still scrapes driveway(which already has ramp)

im going back to pedders tomorow, see what they say.. ideally i want about a 10-15mm raise in the back.. i have a feeling the next size spring is too much..

in the fronts ther is about an inch and a half under the wheel arch to the tyre.. but i dont scrape..

at the moment it has that mustang look about it.. rear low and front a lil higher... the reason that the back is lower than the front is the ~50kg of car audio (sub box, 2 subs, heap of mdf) in the boot...

see how i go..

tomorrow back to pedders to see what we can do..

last step is wheel alignment and camber adjustment..
