Yea i have always been a gas is for cooking person but as i am 3 quarts the way thru putting turbo on my car i have hit a lot of brick walls when it comes to getting it properly registered and roadworthy the price for people like bi pac to do a adr3700 test is the same as for me to gas her and when you get an alternative fuels compliance gone is the need for me to have to get the epa test done as it automaticaly passes when it passes the gas compliance.

Hate to be the one to tell you, but just cause you are running straight gas does not mean you automaticly pass EPA testing. You still have to pay your $1400 to get the test done and then get an engineers cert to say the mounting of the turbo and intercooler and anything else does not comprimise the structural integrity of the car. Just cause gas is cleaner than petrol you can still very easily fail an emissions test, due to other factors, it is not just about what is coming out the exhaust.

once you have it on dedicated straight gas by someone like gas research they will write a report up that is good enough for the engeneer that i am using due to them being able to certify it to pass the adr3700 emisins testing if you have a 97 or onward it needs to pas adr3701 emisions testing and then you would need another test done by the likes of bi pac ect
Re the engeneers cert the only structural change to my vehicle is that i have 2 holes in the front one where the battery was and the other where the air box was and same thing the engeneer didnt see a problem with this. |

The only way the Swift automotive (GRA) can legally certify that it will pass adr3700 test is if that if the turbo kit you have has been through a adr3700 test and they can supply you with these papers. It is like AVO they can sell there kits with complience papers because they have had there kits tested and have the paper work to supply there coustomers with.
Because what you are saying is that I can run my car on straight methonal and as long as I register it with the ALT fuels and make the changes so to the car so that it will run it, I will be sweet cause it is a cleaner fuel then petrol and LPG. |

I am not having a go at you, it is just that I have had to make my car comply to EPA standards and I know what is involved to get it through to pass.

All i am relaying is what ive been told by certain people i am waiting for pak mechanical to give me a call back about it the engeneer was a bit shady on the whole thing but to my thinking if they can comly it (which they can) on straight gas on a normal falcon then they should be able to with a turbo the only thing in my path is that technicaly speaking a turbo on a motor that didnt come with one is a engine upgrade in voc roads books.
Having said all that we did a turbo on my mates 4.5 land cruiser and it passed the engeneers cert with nothing but the slip from gas research. |
