hi guys
well last time my car was in getting it's tyres done they must have used a rattle gun on them. i went to get off a wheel the other day to check the brakes and when i tried to take off the locking nut i stripped out all the tabs on the adapter. does anyone know if i can go out and order a new adapter and how much one would cost me. i went to bob jane tmarts and they want $66 just to take off the lockin nuts and raplace them with normal nuts. Is it a good price or what. |

Just use a socket that's about the right size to fit the lock nut, and belt it on with a hammer, then undo it - you are going to have to do that 4 times though. New lock nuts range from $25 for a set of cheap ones, to around $70 for a decent set with a socket style lock nut key.

yeah i had to do that when i broke the locking nut spanner, be careful not to hit your wheels with the hammer, could get nasty if you have soft alloys.
Expect to destroy the socket too, use an old one if you have one. I actually got 4 new normal wheel nuts from ford for free, was stoked! |
