What an excellent turnout!...
I would just like to thank Ian and Trick_XD for organising the event, (even though i reckon your crazy for coming from warnambool to calder!) ... Everyone behaved , and was a real great turnout, there was hundreds of people tonite, couldnt beilive how packed it is...we got at least 5 runs , but sad to say nearly everyone had traction issues, ie me, maded6 and mark_td etc Well done to SnyperEB, for his 14.5 pass, thats excellent, even though it was probly heaps annoying putting your bar back on as we were leaving! Polyal, it just wasnt your night hey , discovering a missfire just as we entered calder entrance...hope you get that sorted ASAP! I wheel spun bad, every run i had, and i was running 15PSI in my 215/65/R14 tyres with excellent tred...doing the best i could, got me a 15.2, the car was picking up fast mid track, and defently has potential for a <14.4 ... Just tonite, wasnt our night, (cough* friday the 13th cough*) hehe ... But yeah thanks heaps to Ian, and Trick_XD , you guys have done great, and am looking forward to the next time we go! Ill try and get the videos my girlfriend/other friends took. but they might be a bit to big to post, we'll see, but ill definatly post pics ! Cheers! - Grechie

What an excellent night, as Grechie said, massive thanks to Ian and Swanny for organising the night.
Being my first time out, my new PB is a pretty lame 17.441 @ 78.87MPH, which was my first run... everything after that got slower. The grip on that first run was excellent, but as the night progressed, track temp went down and so did traction. If I was getting wheelspin, I can only imagen what the rest of you were getting :P Polyal, even with the misfire you still thrashed me : New tail lights looked good... I had a nice long look at them lol :P The videos my freind took were rather blurry, I dont think its even worth posting them... One day when I finally get some engine mods, i'll head back and see if I can break into the 16's lol :P

well as grechie said traction was no good on the night i ran the best of a 15.41 with a lame 2.48 60' and then i spun second then i got good traction on 1 ran coz i held a realy good burnout but i missed third in a real bad way i grinded the crap out of it then thought i wrecked my box coz it wouldnt select at all then it eventually went in.
but ahh well ill see how i go at heathcote i spose i will be happy with anything 14 now but my car should be good for 14.5. cheers to Ian and Swanny for organising it and getting us on the infield. cheers josh.

Another bad thing was that I had to race against a turbo twice in a row (you know who you are lol) but I congratulate you on your time it was very impressive especially when I was watching you dissappear in the distance :( that car now has come a long way well done !!! However I felt very nervous when I was next to a pro car, just the sound of it and the vibration it was giving made my car shake. I really stuffed that run up with a ET of 16.1. He got something like 9 secs I think. I also would like to Thank Swanny (Trick_XD), and Ian (MIEF40) for organising the event. Without their help we wouldnt be in the infield with the Pro cars and racing against each other most of the time. Thanks alot guys and I hope to see more of these appearing.

absolutely excellent night. it was a great honour being able to be on the infield. my wife managed to get videos (with no sound) of the following cars:
6000 6001 6005 6008 2150 (we wont count him cause he did a 9.9 second run) i just have to convert them to a common format and put them on my website so you guys can see. Or since I don't know names of vehicle owners, you can pm me and i can email you the footage if you would like to see it sooner. so a big thank you to Ian and all for a really great night |

I was there but I got the wrong entry form and couldn't enter the infeild with you guys, it was late and the line to scrutenering was huge so I couldn't be stuffed going back. I was in the Blue AU with 17" AU2 wheels.
I ran a best of 16.2 but I was having issues down low in my RPM and that resulted in crap 60footers of 2.7. My previous PB is 15.1 and i couldn't match that with a new crowcam that I put in so there was an issue with my car for sure. It was a good night out anyway. |

Ah finally got time to jump online.
It was a bloody excellent night. Although I was so depressed, I could have burnt the damn EL then and there I was so angry. Like I said on the night, its been faultless for the ~12 months Ive had it and of all the times for something to go wrong was literally 5 minutes away from Calder. I actually left my car in Taylors Hill, need to get it tomorrow, and left the slips there too. Lets just say it can only get better, although for running on 5 and something cylinders it wasn't tooooo bad..LOL I think my best was 17.2, cant remember the MPH. Ill update tomorrow, but its hardly worth it. I couldn't launch at all, basically the car shook like shyte until it reached >3000rpm then it was "ok". Hopefully it is just a plug issue, seems that way. I think its about 8000k;s over for a service, probably explains it too... : Atleast its an excuse to buy some new parts..Ill have to make a plugs and leads thread later. I have to say this aswell, a MASSIVE thankyou to Swanny, Ian, and Grant; and basically everyone else who chipped in. Im bloody hopeless when it comes to anything electrical, if it wasn't for you guys then I would have never been able to run. Also thanks to everyone for the advice, that was my first time out and I was nervous as. My first burnout was pathetic, felt it step out ut no smoke. So I figured if I was going to be slow I might aswell do a good burnout my second time around; I was happy with the smoke-age...LOL Im pumped for the next round, ill have the cam, plugs, leads done by then; I just want to see a 15 pass damn it! It was good to meet everyone, and for those who I haven't seen before; including Pat, I guess those stockies dont look that bad _2: Sorry for the long post, I just had a great night regardless of the issues, I WANT MORE!

14.5 for snyper, read the thread mate. Seems like you all got pretty **** times, maybe calder put ice on the track lol. Cause you know some cars were running 9's so it must have been slippery and ****. Let's see some MPH figures.

yeah my time of 15.4 was with 93 nearly 94mph. grechies was pretty much the same on his 15.4 run. and although yes there were some cars running 9's there was no grip for people with STREET TYRES i launched mine in a sort of practice launch bout 1m out of the water and it gripped at bout 3500rpm but then i tried that on the actual line and it just wheelspun then spun second so i dont no wat was going on.
cheers josh.

Was a fun night, I got three runs, ran a 15.008 first time at 96MPH with a 2.4 60' then for the second run i got a pretty good launch 2.1 60' but I missed 2nd and 3rd somehow :S and ran a 16.4 at 88MPH and for the last one I got a 2.0 60' not bad gearchanges (need to get used the shifter) and ran a 14.8 at 94MPH, i've got the bug now though, can't wait till I go again!
Need alot more practise though drag racing isn't easy! Hopefully I can get a mid to low 14 next time out with a few more passes. I wanna thank Ian and trick_XD thanks heaps for organising it and getting us into the in-field!

Just wondering, where did the E-Series quarter mile time & dyno figure thread go?? Its no longer a sticky, and no amount of searching can help mine it back to the top...
