The Head gasket in my ea had reached its end and ive been looking at replacing it myself instead of taking it to a mechanic and losing an arm and a leg.....(bad financial situation atm)......any pointers or tips u can offer someone who has little experience?

Use a proper single hex socket on the head bolts, rounding them sucks.

Dont be a stooge and reuse headbolts (sunny will have something to say about this but)
Get the head machined and pressure tested Use a steel AU Gasket when reassembling Be prepared to notice broken timing chain guides When putting it all back together, make sure timing marks are still correct, as harmonic balancer always slips on these engines.
