Default Whine

Hi

Ive got a 1993 ED fairmont Ghia and when accelerating at about 60km/h there is a whine sound coming from either the auto or something in the rear end, it only does it in Drive when pushed back to 3rd gear there is no whining, but the whine is back when i downshift say from D-3-2-1, im stumped at what it could be, would anyone be able to shed some light onto what does this, it only does it whilst accelerating at around 60km but as soon as the foot is off it stops the noise so im puzzled at what it could be...

thanks Shawn

diff fluid depends on the diff.
check your owners manual.
i had my fluid changed in my LSD for $20 (i supplied the fluid which was another 20ish)
i would have done it myself only we couldn't get the filler hole undone :|

Hey, from your description it sounds like you diff, but changing the oil is unlikely to change it as it sounds like you gears are worn, But change it anyway as you never know, and it doesnt cost too much.
