always get comments on exhaust, "to noisy", especially when i 1st got it put on my ea.
when i got my 5speed ea happening, dad said, im not buying you tyres, (he never has !!!) ehhe recently though, my favourite comment was when mum took my car to work as her's did a water pump. well she "loved the noise, the power and the smoothness" and received congratulations on the new toy this is just after i got it converted to manaul she wasnt to happy but then she changed her tone after i told her its 2k for an auto rebuild :P

My family always tells me to leave it alone because I end up breaking things. They still don't understand why I converted to manual and still laugh about it.
Although my brothers have commented on how nice my wheels are

My mum doesn't want me spending any money on my car, my dad just thinks i'm a hoon, anything I've/do to it I get bagged out for it by my dad :P Funny stuff though.....He drove it once and just goes, "it's crap, make it stock again it'll be so much better" :gren:
Worst thing about the exhaust is that they always know what time I get home whenever I go out, I can never drive into my driveway without waking them up, I even turn the car off at the start of the driveway and let it roll, but it never works!

well 1st off me old man thinks i should lower it even more (super at the moment) cause he says i haven't stuffed up his drive way enough yet.
mum just keeps to herself cause there is 3 sons that do it and we will gang up on her. then when me car blew up dad blamed it on the ride height! i started working on it in january and i'm still mucking around with the motor and gear box, so he just helps and dosen't say anything anymore, but keeps telling me his ZH 302 Fairlane is going to beat me. |

Both my parents think im just wasting my money on my car.. Which i really know but dont want to think about lol. The exhaust is too loud.. The stereo has to be on no bass at all, coz apparently they feel sick with doof. And its too bumpy. I gave up listening to what they say when theyre in the car like a year ago

my dad said 'Thats the biggest motor i've ever seen' about the chev. And he's a truck driver, hahahaha.
My mum said 'i can't believe you wont go to the doctor and spend $20 on antibiotics, but you're happy to put $20 of fuel in the v8 every time it leaves the garage' They should be used to it by now, i have had over 20 cars in the last 10 years, none of them stock.

parents love my car.
after all, their car is a typhoon so i dont think them calling me a hoon or anything would really be overly justifyable

Both my parents loved the capri but they werent to happy when i came home at 3 in the morning with that thing rumbling past their bedroom window so when i said that i wanted the sprint my mum didnt really mind as long as it was what i wanted and my dad had very low expectations (holden man *cringes*) but when i got it and dad drove it he fell in love with it and as a bonus i no longer wake them up if i come home late.

Well my dad is a car guy so he said "good pickup"....mum said "not another one"...lol
Both have given up on telling me not to spend money on it...and if they knew the half of it they would freak, well mum anyway. I tell ya guys, the best thing I did was move out of home, I had to cos uni was in Geelong, but I look back now and its been one of the best things Ive done. nothing wrong with home (hmm mums cooked meals), just CBF driving 2 hours everyday. Only problem now is that rent, food etc etc eats into mod money!! ah!

Not much really, I've dragged my father and won (He's a veteran revhead, but gave up the fast cars years ago. He's a luxury man now, but still apreciates quarter mile times)
Mum keeps telling me to buy a 4 cyl for petty reasons, but I've told her 'In a little while, mine'll chew as much petrol as a standard 5liter". Hrm, noone really cares wat I do :P I just cruise up whenever I want and leave whenever I want... I need a job...................... :/ |

Well, my parents aren't too worried at the moment because it's stock (besides the stereo). If I did spend some money on mods though, they wouldn't be happy though. They know I don't have much money so if I drove back to Gippsland with a nice set of 18"s and superlows all round, they would be majorly angry. After my big crash years ago, I think they are happy I am in such a safe car though.

The olds love it because I don't spend all my money on beer instead. Mum nearly talks about it more then I do to the rellies and family friends. I've got extractors and 1 muffler and the old man reckons its not loud enough. He used to have a heavily worked mini (cam, head, bored out 200cc), with the exhaust being only a set of extractors, single 6" hotdog and a 3" 45deg dump. Possibly why he is half deaf nowdays.

Parents aren't too fussed with the mods, just think im waisting my hard earned money on things that arn't needed to make the car run. They seem to like the after affects of the mods tho, just not the talking about them before hand.

My old man paid for half my first car, wasn't allowed to touch (Mod) it till i paid back the money i owed him. Paid the thing off and bought a Ba MKII xr8 new, it took me 7 months to save for the mods. Took him 2 weeks before he hoped in and came for a run, he nearly as it started to chrip at 1ook's. He called me every name under the sun and told me how stupid i am for having such a power full road car that i drive everyday, he only found out last week that it was only running the baby tune which is about 34orwkw when he went for a run.
Got bored so i went out and bought a BF 2 weeks ago, should have all the good bits i have bought on that within a month or 2. Neither of the oldies are happy iv'e wasted so much money on car's, all i need to say is would you rather me smoking crack or rubber. Underneath the old man is a revhead but just doesn't show it. |

I bought my XR when I was 20, so obviously I wasnt living with my parents at the time.
They never knew what car I had for about 6 months anyways. My mum never really had any concern until she realised that when I said I was going the drags, that I meant I was racing. So I stopped telling her about it. I moved 1000km from my family last year, so I dont have to deal with them anymore.

my folks are fairly cool bout it, dad help we work on my first car mk2 escort- on that we put a new motor in it and got it all prepped up for painting and replaced steering racks 3 times (something bout 215 tyres chewing out the steering racks). then when i got my first falcon (eb 3.9 auto) they were a bit concerned coz its a more powerful car, dad took it for a drive, came home laughing saying how silly i am coz my escort would of killed it. then they were glad i sold that, and dad lent me the money to get my eb i got now and he likes everything ive done to it, loves the exhaust note, when i went with him to pick it up from the shop once it was lowered he freaked out saying how stupid that it is that low, but it has grown on him and he likes it now. mum lets just not go there- the blonde comments that come out of her when she starts talking bout cars is something that me and dad laugh at for weeks.
