Default Thoughts - New? EA-ED kit GTO

GTO body kit for EA-ED

I heard about this new? kit and went looking for it.
Not as good as it sounded.
Rear bar looks terrible but i don't mind the modified EL GT wing to fit EA-ED although a bit high.
Could have been so much better..

front and skirts look like they were made in the 80's, back just looks wrong, and i dont think the wing really suits it, might just be the rest of the kit making it look bad.
Although, in the last pic, of the rear, if the car was DUMPED on its ***, had 18's, lost the louvre, and colour-coded the door trim thingys, it wouldnt look as bad.

still wouldn't buy it tho lol

front has the EF/EL bumper mould... a bit weird for an EA-ED.
rear comes up a bit too much in the middle, and would need the car to be pretty low.
side skirts suit the kit.
rear wing... dunno if its too curvy or not... i don't think it looks bad.

Yeah, round lights with square headlights just doesnt sit right, not my cup of tea, but I like the colour coding around the wing mirrors

Yuk, that is pretty hideous IMO. Im not big on body kits for the EA-D, subtle ones yes, the GT kit, yes, but not that thing.

It Kinda looks like its been thrown together from other kits. If its a display car for the kit, they should've matched it up a bit better to the body.

Except too many lights!

Also need an inch taken out of the suspension.

Man, that kit is all over the place. Plain horrible, it's just slapped together. Me prefers sprintkit.

from the side it looks okayish.... front looks wrong, back looks wrong, wing toooo big,

the trim need to be either placed on the kit, or colour coded.. they must match

driving lights just add to the wrong-ness.. lmaooo

i think i keep my kit..

the kit itself i don't mind.
its just the little things like continuing the mould around the car.
using the EF mould on the front.
and the rear lookin' too high.

it looks ok.... things i dont like:

ef mould on front bar
front bar looks a bit like a commodre kit
side skirts look ok.. better if it was just one solid piece instead of having the line through the middle of it
rear bar looks good apart from the gap being too high
rear wing looks alright

It would have some potential as it's unique, plus would make speed humps fun. A bit of VX SS inspiration with the front bar. If they photographed a car without the silly grille lights and some suitable rims it could look ok. Having said that, body kits aren't really my thing at all.

I stand corrected. But that EF is missing the bonnet protector.

LOL, yeah, nothing like a touring car with bonnet protector, could also do with one of those perspex drivers wind thingies on the front doors, oh, and maybe a rear louvre as well!!! :

No offence to the owner of that car, but that looks absolutely hideous in my opinion. A worse bodykit on an EA/B/D i have yet to see. Jesus, that is disgusting :

EDIT: I guess i'd better give reasons, some of which others may have mentioned.
A. The front bumper moulds don't line up, it's from an EF or something and the kit looks like its just bolted on, not at all integrated with the rest of the body on the car.
B. The rear bumper is rediculous. It looks like it's trying to be a rear diffuser, but the angle and height that it sits up at looks stupid. It is just too aggressive for the E-series shape.
C. Round driving lights in the front spoiler, with square headlights???
D. I don't mind the side skirts, but they just don't tie in with the rest of the kit.

the kit was orignally developed for the EF.

hence why it has the EF moulding.

the side skirts too, were with this front (as can also be seen on the V8 supercar above)

the rear bar is a competely new part from what i can tell, the EF GTO bodykit from CCS that this is based on has a completely different rear bar

I like the front and sides.

Looks as though it's just been thrown on that car for display pics. A fully colour coded example, without rear spoiler and dumped more, clear indicaters etc, would look swoit asssssssssssss!!

Yeah i'd say if it were done peoperly, without the fog lights (something wrong with em...can't put my finger on it. too far out?) and superlow-style suspension it'd look ok.

The rear end seems to be too 'steep' if you know what i mean. Needs the middle bit to be a bit more subtle.
