g'day, i recently had a problem with my brakes after flogging my car pedal went the floor still had brakes but only 1/2in from the floor, looked for leaks, bulging hoses and found nothing so i bleed them and that fixed it until today driving around giving it a bit of stick same again light on dash comes on as well forgot to mention and the brakes are up the s***t again what on earth could be causing this. it's not using fluid and the pads are fine i have never had any issues with the brakes on a abs car yet and this has got me stumped! can anyone help please? thanks

That my friend is brake fade. I first experienced it coming down the back of Mount Glorious, after passing two motorcycles coming into a 30 km/h hairpin down a 20 degree mountain straight, foot straight to the floor. I though I was gone, babied it to the bottom of the hills, my brakes were red and smoking. The lesson, is if you are overtaking motorbikes on a mountain pass, your going to fry your brakes, and they will laugh at you.

yeh guys au 1, brake up grade to au2 will be happening latter. i have had brake fade before this doesn't go away when the brakes cool down as has been my experience with brake fade it will remain like this until i bleed them again witch i have never had to do before on any of the cars i have owned xb through to ed and they have all copped bigger floggings than this thing has. but if the problem is from my driving style maybe i should sell it i do have a pushbike

Might be an idea to check your rotors, mine did the same thing and the rotors were just undersize

thanks slo au xr8 i checked my rotors and they are pretty worn out looks like au2 upgrade will be happening sooner than i thought. cheers
