Hi all,my mates xr6 does'nt display the handbrake symbol on the dash and he has driven with the hand brake on for a few kms a couple of times then smells the pads baking which is annoying. We pulled the instrument cluster out and changed the bulb but that was fine and worked in other displays so my question is there a fuse for that light or some kind of sensor that the hand brake itself triggers to activate the light once it has been pulled to the on position?,cheers for any helpful info.

The light is triggered by a button that is held in when the handbrake is off, not sure if these fault at all, easiest way to get to it is to remove the drivers seat then just lift up the handbrake cover.

All fixed,it was a small clip in plug just above the foot rest,it must have been knocked off by someones foot, plugged it back in and the light on the dash is back.
