after fitting new radiator and new thermastat i have noticed it takes quite a few k's before temp gauge actually moves into the very low region,it eventually gets into the normal setting but appears to take quite some time,is this quite normal,my wifes car reaches normal temp in about 2 to 3 k's in her bmw,any advice appreciated ps i still prefer my ef than her bimmer which ИИИИes her off

yea, its normal... the ford is a BIG iron block!!! it takes alot longer than smaller alloy blocks to heat up... mine takes about 5 kms of driving before it hits the scale. Dads camry gets to op temp in like 1kms of driving!

Ive noticed Falcons are the slowest to reach normal temp of just about any car ive been in. Its just the way its setup, and not anything particulary wrong.
