Default Typical delivery timeframe?

Hi All,

My girlfriend signed on the dotted line on Saturday to get one a new LV MKII LX Focus in Tango. She was assured that it was in 'final assembly' and should expect it in 2-6 weeks. She was pushed to sign up there and the to guarantee getting it.

Anyway, she got a call today saying not to expect it until February - about 3 months later than expected. She was given the option of taking a different colour sooner (which she doesn't want) or waiting (but not a refund of the deposit).

Do any of you have similar experience or a feel for how long it takes for cars to arrive? It's all a bit of a sour taste being pushed to sign up in a big hurry, then the delivery put off for so long. I suppose this big worry is that the date will slip again...
