Default Successful Manual Conversion

Changed the auto in my brothers EL GLI to a manual this week. The most time consuming part was pulling the dash out to fit the new pedal box. We fitted an XR6 cam when the auto was in it and it pulled hard. Now it really moves with the manual. Took the gamble, bought it off E-BAY for $200 the lot. The box is tight as!! Like new.

Only troubles where having is, when you put it in reverse the reverse lights turn on but will not turn off when put into neutral or another gear. They will though when the ignition is turned off, then back on again. Why is this?

It is well worth the effort if you have the patients to pull the dash out and in again.
