niko, shut up for christs sake!

Drop a whole AU engine in there. You can get custom cams ground for AU's as well, if that's your plan.

Convert to single belt too. It'll be better in the long run.

Yeah but they are also the chunkiest so you can grind a hell of a lot of metal out of them to make them flow better.

If your gonna use an worked EA head on a AU block you'll have to shave a fair bit off the head to get the compression back up. They'll remove the 'swirl' from the combustion chambers if they work it which will drop the compression even more over stock so shaving the head is the only way to get it back up.

Thank-you!

I usually stick up for you niko, but shutup about John's motor.

Plus, my cam cost me $60. How much was John's Dev3HL? Idiot.

LOL @ you guys. Actually I reckon the AU head is pretty good for mild applications. I put one on my brothers EF a while back when it did the old E-series I6 head gasket routine.

Was pretty torquey and felt pretty punchy low down- mid range.

LOL @ coight!

Sound interesting, how much would it drop the compression, would it drop it to much for turbo/blown applications, or would it still have to come up somewhat.......

I have EF bottom end, EF cam and EA head, got around 110rwkw on the dyno, so I wouldnt say the EA head is complete crap.

I plan to get as far as I can on the EA head with my planned mods, then with only a head swap to ef/el see what power I get, will be an interesting experiment.

EDIT : - thats also with an EA 3 speed auto ecu + seperate 4 speed trans controller, and BBM runners not switching for the record.

That would be an interesting experiment.

It would also be interesting to see what you could drop the compression to using an EA head and taking out the swirl in the chamber using an AU bottom end. It could work out fairly boost friendly.

Once I get my ECU in and sorted Ill buy an AU motor and take it apart. I have a feeling the new setup might stress my current engine a little :P
