Default Control Valves removed?

Has anyone with an ef/el or higher removed the control valves in the intake plenum?? I have been told that if removed they increase flow but take away the torque down low? Supposed to be a good mod!

Very little (if any) to be gained up top and you will loose low end torque. With a modded engine you may gain something by changing the point at which the valve opens - you would need advice from those who have done and proven so though. The stock BBM system is actually quite good.
