I've keen to find out more about cams available for my EA, and emailed Crow and Wade. Crow basically didn't want to know about the CFi motor, but Wade have gotten back to me with they're stage 1 cam:
918x Ex .227 In .242 59-77 22-64 188 194 .Hyd .Hyd .454 .484 111 Smooth idle, suit std. motor Has anyone else had this cam, or another Wade cam with similar mild lift spec etc? What is the specs of the standard cam? or link to: It seems alot of people here have Wade cams installed, so I guess they must be alright.. |

I dont blame crow - Its really not worth while with a cfi motor. You would be better off converting to multipoint before looking at cams..

wade 1636 is my advice. Most mild performance guys on here are using it.

as anjmala said.. stop telling people to convert to mpfi.... they asked a question about what they could do with what they have... they may not be able to convert it or watever... so to answer your question... the 1636 from wade is a great all round cam for mild and even worked motors... they do go allot bigger but i think that anything bigger than the 1636 will run too lean (not enough fuel ) with the cfi setup.. i had the same thing... my car was cfi and wenever i asked i got the same response.. mpfi was in the plan but not straight away...

if you can install a cam, you can install mpi.
same price, but mpfi is a GUARANTEED performance upgrade. a cam will just waste fuel and put the mpfi upgrade further off because your wallet is empty. as an EA owner who did the upgrade (and installed many cams), all i can say is DO THE BLOODY UPGRADE!!! |
