my eb v8 has no diagnostic plugs.i dont know if this has anything to do with it being strait gas or not.it is in limp home mode and i took it to a family friend who is a ford nut and a racv mechanic of 30years.it confused him to, but theres no plugs near the brake booster and we couldnt find them elsewhere.any ideas?im sure i could get a auto elect to try and extract codes out of the auto ecu.is there anything else and why wouldnt it have the plugs?

the plug is a big white one, and near the fuse box to the right of the steering wheel.

yep, but im not sure if the eb plug is obd2 compliant, so it may be a ford service job. I had a quote from them recently to do a scan, and they told me it will be about a half hour job

yeah series one will have it in the engine bay, series two will have it inside the fuse box.
one way to sort of tell is if its a series 1, it usually has unpainted, chalky looking door handles. and series two has unpainted glossy ones.

yeah its not hard to have lost or broken the keyfobs and not get them with the car when you buy it.
Some series 2 eb's have no centre lap sash seatbelt either. most do however, must have been a changeover model or something with those things.

Check your ground on the side of the engine, my old eb did the whole limp home mode thing after spending $130 on a diagnostic, all it happened to be was the ground was loose.

You can check the EB2 / ED codes without going to a dealer. It's pretty simple, I don't know why people are taking their cars to dealers for the code reading.
