Paint it blue. Its always been black. It will liven things up a bit.
If you eventually hate it you can always replace it. |

Yep, i reckon it'll look tacky. I like painted rocker covers, as for the rest, i would leave it black.

I painted mine...kind of...I just painted the "ribs" on top and the "ECCV 4" or whatever it is. Looks alright IMO. I think I might have the bonnet up at the AFD, I did the water reserve tank aswell

Remove the intake piping (cos it is in the way)
Remove the throttle and cruise cables Unplug all the hoses going to the rocker cover Undo the bolts And thats it! Id also suggest getting a new rocker gasket for when you put it back on.

Blink,
the new gasket is nothing to worry about, it just ensures that the seal when you put the cover back on is as good as it can possibly be. Im unsure of how much they are (i can find out for you Thursday), if there's nothing wrong with your existing one and you dont bugger it up when you take it off, yuo should be fine. So yeah, its just a personal preference thing really. If it were me i would put a new one on, but you dont by any means absolutely have to do it.

Do you think clear coat would be necessary for VHT brake/enamel paint? I doubt it would but I used it on my brakes over the VHT and they came out very nice.
Oh for anyone who buys the paint at supercheap go to their website first and print off the 20% vouture and save a few $$$$ |
