Hi all,
I am just wondering if it is at all possible to fully remove all A/C components in an AU V8 and have it still have the cooling system run correctly, I want to remove the A/C to lighten the load for track racing. How would I go about such a thing? Any help is greatly appreciated. Brett

you could do it but you would have to either leave the compressor in or rig up an idler pully to take it's place

I'd be happy to leave in the idler pulley system, I just want to get rid of the A/C unit and compressor lines to free up room in the engine bay and weight inside the car.
I was wondering on how to go about it as there are lines everywhere and some of them have coolant from the engine in them, so if I remove the system which lines have to go where so the coolant system still does it's job like normal.

the ones with coolant are heater hoses and there will be 2 of them coming from the engine just run a short hose between the 2 points on the engine where the are now. in one of the heater hoses there will be a vacum operated tap just block the vacum line
