just a quick question the buttons on the climate control, are they meant to light up when the headlights are on?

Easy to change. There is a screw behind the clock surround which pulls off. Whole unit comes out, couple plugs to undo then can get to the globes.

Change them for white LEDs much better

whats involved in putting leds? i would like to do the window switchs too. do you have to run resistors etc?

There's a tutorial in the technical section for aus to show u how to do be window switches and yes you need a resistor as for the climate control they use a t5 bulb just like behind the dash do you can get some of eBay and if them straight in me personaly I use the 3 headed LEDs in blue for mine lights up ok at night
