Hi all, long time lurker first post, plz be gentle :1syellow1
Am having strange prob with dash warning lights (ED Futura) The low water and check ABS lights are coming on, and staying on, water level and brakes are fine, its driving me : Asked mechanic about it, he did the patronising talk slow to the girlie thing, and suggested removing the light bulbs. Yeah, haha, thanks mate. I do most of the work on my car, im not a complete moron, but this one has me stumped. Any ideas?? |

Welcome. Lol, charming username.
OK well chances are the coolant sensor has packed it in... or there is a problem with the wiring. Personally id just replace it... does the ED have the plastic header tank?? The low coolant sensor should be mounted in the side of it... not 100% but i guess ford spares would be the ppalce to get one?? With the ABS - if the light is on then the ABS system has probably disabled itself. The brakes will work fine, but there will be no anti locking system enabled. Not my area of expertise but i think you can runa diagnostic on the ABS computer and it'll tell you why it's bringing up the error. I'll just go have a look at the tech docs i have at hand...

If you go to Ford and get a replacement coolant sensor, get a grommet for it too. They go hard and when you replace the sensor, there is a good chance the old one will leak.
