I was just havin a look around cardomain.com chasing up a car I saw on there a while ago, and came across this: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/718922
A Holden 355 stroker in an EB? Now if this has been posted before, or is obviously fake, I'm sorry, but I'm so tired I cant tell even from the strut towers whether it's an EB or a VR, can someone tell me if this is real? Please no mis-informed holden bashing in this thread by the way. A 355 in an EB would go quite well, my step-brother has one in a VPSS (purple, aero kit, on 19's) and it has around 301rwkw in naturally aspirated form...

My god that is evil... somebody call for an exorcisim!!!
Sounds like a tough car though... although commonsense would tell me that all the money spent on putting a 304 into a falcon could have been better spent on a worked windsor... But damn 11.58@145mph... im not going to argue... :P

Just read that the guy is from WA, which means this is potentially real. One of our ex-mechanics had a white VR/VS exec with a highly strung RB26DETT over there, passed inspection for rego on the second attempt (wound the boost down) very easily, however that was a few years ago.

No way would you get those sort of terminal speeds out of an EB with that much power. And IF it was a true 145mph, then (if set up correctly) it would be good for a 9.5sec quarter....... Say the car weighs 1300kg (i know thats not heavy), and it has 540fwhp, you are looking at a mid 10sec AT THE BEST with NOTHING over the low 130mph's, its a mathamatical fact. Anyone wonder why it is running both a chiptorque chip and also a microtech controller? Why are the holden engine components from Ford Racing? What the hell is a ford racing exhaust? Rubbish..... Mike

Mmmmm, I remember my VP 355 stroker. It was an absolute weapon and very good for hosing rice boys. It had full HSV interior too. I miss that car a lot.

Certainly looks real, that not a Chev or Ford V8, it looks like a Holden 304 for sure.
Definately E-series shock towers too.

thats weird, why go to that much trouble just to sell it?. Obviously something suss their (the guy selling it might say "nothing suss" but he will most likely say that with a cucumber in his hands........)
The windsor's pack quite a punch, and yeh 302 does roll's off the tongue better then 304. Also the e-series windsor's are based off the american mustangs too!. |

i read a mag once that had a old XY GT with a GENIII HSV motor in it, apparently it was cheaper to modify it to fit than drop the fords equal into it.....

Is it possible that the reason a 304 was used instead of a 302 was so the 6cyl k frame wouldnt have to be changed? I mean, there is a fair chance that this car started life as a 4ltr i6, to change to a 302 v8 requires a v8 eb or ed k frame, maybe the 302s go into a 6cyl k frame without to many sump, engine mount or k frame modications...
As well as that, i seem to hear of alot of 304s in vn getting into the 12s without a great deal of mods, so one would think that a 355, twin throttle bodies and the ecu to run it all should get into the 11s... As for sound, most v8s sound nuts with a exhaust so who cares

Not forgetting the absent "ford racing" strut bar it claims to have & that is not an E series radiator. The diff is either a locker or a spool, it can't be both. The over flow tank & washer bottle are also MIA. Too much BS in the claims that you can see are wrong (let alone what you can't see) to pay any attention to it. EB 355 seems to be suffering from imaginitis. :MrT_anim: That's not a windsor in there, but after seeing all the dribble on that page, who cares what it really is or what it can do? :sm_drool: But as for a crumbledoor motor in a Falcon.... :
