I like the EL's - the last of the e-series as they made it right - all previous models where just the moulds :

I chose EA. Hard to choose tho as what are we baseing our decisions on?? Looks? reliabilty? comfort? power? If we are baseing it on all of the above then EL is prolly the most logical choice, but if you put aside reliability, comfort and power, and only focus on looks, then i'm going to haveto choose the EA. I prefer the EA-ED shape over the EF/EL, and i prefer the indiviual charecteristics of on EA over EB/ED. For example, i MUCH prefer the **** end of an EA ghia compared to EB/ED ghia, and also prefer the vented c-pillar.

has anyone noticed how the graph actually looks?
EA is small, EB a bit bigger, ED bigger again. then the new shape falcon came out and the EF is smaller than the ED, then the EL is largest of the lot. just funny how, in term of age/series/etc, the latest of each model is most popular and they all seem to go in order!! pointless post but just interesting...

HELL YEH!!! i personally love the look of the EB grille, really stylish. i used to love the el XR's although lately iv been a bit turned off by them, i think i prefer the ef xr over the el xr now! the differences body wise between the ef and el were obviously the grille, the taillights went sh!tter! (why would ford have clear indicators in the rear of the ef, then go and put orange ones in the el?????), passenger side door handle on the front lost the door lock, fairmonts go different grilles also and extra bit of garnish on the boot, fairlanes changed grille and boot garnish.bout all i think! one day i'd love to have an EB GT and an EL GT sitting side by side in my shed!!lol!!dream come true!!!! cheers

yeh i know the fairmonts got the clears again. they proberly tried to make a change between the lower range to the higher range. still its weird because of the ef having clears! no one would even notice if the ef had orange ones and the el got the clears. it'd make sence then, but how it actually happened is just weird!

1. I love the EA-ED shape, it just strikes me as tough. 2. ED's seem to be the better of the earlier E's, they seem to take more punishment and reqiure less constant maintainance in the process. Unless, of course, I just got a really good one (a Wednsday car). |

i've owned many e-series, but i have found the EL (fairmont) to be a great looking car and very well refined, driving one was a pleasure and a half! +manual and i am now kind of regreting selling it :( lol
