Just don't trust Ford's or are they redundent?

My water gauge and sender are on the fritz so there'll be a little pod infront of the regular one pretty soon.

Gee, you learn something new everyday. I always thought that was for aesthetic reasons!

The gauge setup looks good, but I'd never get rid of my trip computer

Most of you have the trip computer and we are aware you dont wish to remove it.

We need your ideas of where the best place to fit a twin gauge pod.

Is there room near the ashtray area?

Other thoughts are greatly appreciated

Cheers, Aly

Here's a dodgy shot of what I mean.

The top circles would need to be integrated with the radio surround and eliminate the ash tray.

The bottom square is probably more feasible - it could just clip into the console like the coin pocket does (I think they just clip in?)

We will be looking into it in the near future. At the moment we have the AU Falcon on the drawing board.

We are looking for a second hand console from the AU, damaged is ok. If any of you guys know where we could get our hands on one, we would be greatly appreciated!

Here is a prototype panel that Brian made to fit into BrockB8's Car, but he can do the same set up as what he has done with the top panel. This would take away the ashtray and the compartment above it, which we're sure it wouldnt worry any of you guys.

Thanks to XRated for the pic showing the circles of where the proposed gauges will sit.

Brian is thinking that he can make a insert gauge pod to go into this section which would be pretty easily fitted. He would either send a template to you to mark out the cut section for the pod or have a change over unit with the cut ready made with the insert pod already glued in.

These are just ideas we have been thinking about it for some time but we need your imput to make it to suit YOU!!

Cheers,

Aly & Brian

He could make one but to warrant making the dyes, the time & effort involved, we would have to sell quite a few of them to make them affordable for you guys

Cheers,

Aly

No worries at all Aly. I was thinking you could put slide out cup holders where I put the circles, and underneath have gauge pod holders in the money coin slot/cup thing... I realise it's probably an expensive task but that'd be awesome!!

Can you give us some idea on the pricing of this stuff?

Cheers

Luke

EDIT: Here's a pic. I think Doug did something similar in his old EA? It looked nicer in fibreglass and 2-pac(?) paint.

Pricing - Unknown at this stage

Your ideas are good. Thanks for your help, very much appreciated. We will have a close look at it once we get our hands on a car for viewing.
Depends on availability of room & it has to look good.

It took Brian 40+ hours to carve this badge out of mdf as a first mould, just to show you guys that there is alot of time involved in making anything, so we need as many facts as we can get to make the job right.

I just quickly put this together. Where I have the pics of the coke cans, does that panel remove on its own and is there any room under that panel.

It might just be me but I wouldn't want to take my eyes that far off the road for long enough to adjust and get a decent reading. Rather have something of the road in my peripheral vision. :

Problem is, thats a High series console, without power windows. The window switch goes where that empty panel is.
Low series console is different to that too, it doesnt have the window switch panel, its just a molded pocket, and the front pocket is also molded and not a seperate piece.

I dig these gauges here ^^ However if you made the panel to fit them there so the gauges were raised and on an angle toward the driver it would be way better and I would deffinately buy one off you!
