I'm sure many members of the E-series forum could supply you with a bulge....just probably not the exact type of bulge you are looking for :P

Cut the bonnet, you know you want to!!! Have the tip of the barra motor poking out a little What happened to your old bonnet, didn't it have bulges already?

heres a pic of JETXR's bonnet, you probably seen, but IMO a buldge would look heaps better that a hole, but its your car not mine http://www.deleted link/pics/cruises...s/p1010921.jpg

Still hits. Its about a cm from closing.

Even if it did it fit it would be so close I would be worry about the engine hitting the bonnet when on the throttle.

Ill cut a hole after I get my sump modified and the gearbox is properly mounted next week.

1cm just make the standard bonnet higher in the middle then (the whole buldge section), wouldnt take much and still look stock.

Thats what I thinking of doing but I suck at that kind of thing.

Ill cut a hole first and go from there.

Nah, I would have to trim the engine mounts a fair way.

The engine mounts sit on an angle so cutting them wouldnt do much IMO. Cutting the mounts would sit them closer the block once they are bolted back up. This would stop them lining up with the holes on the K frame.

can you put plates on the block and then bolt the mounts to them, so in effect drop the motor lower again, or is the k-frame too close already.

Not sure about that one.

I would rather mount the stock engine mounts to the stock mounting holes though. I feel it's safer to cut a hole in the bonnet rather than make my own mounts.

Does anyone have an engine stand I can borrow? I have to take the sump off and send it away for a few days to get the oil return line welded in.

I bolted the engine and box back in today.

None of that stuff needed modding. The power steering pump needs a 90 degree adapter. The alternator has a different shaped plug.

Im waiting on a custom intake plenum to be made, Ill be using a cable throttle body.

There isnt a lot to do now. Bolt the tailshaft up, bleed the clutch line, fit an exhaust and intake manifold, throttlebody, then sort out the ECU.
