if the car is standard you have a 3.08 single spinner.

I thought series 2 onwards was 3.23:1 .... Series 1 carried over the EL 3.08s ... from memory.

There is a label (sticker) on the drivers side of the diff ... on the actual axle housing near the back of the brake shield ... it might need a clean to read it though .... this will tell you exactly what your vehicle has.

no both the workshop manualsI have say 3.08 and my 2002 SR had a 3.08 (now 3.45 LSD) I belive some wagons got the 3.23 and so did the fairmonts and IRS was 3.23 except the XR at 3.45

Forte/Futura = 3.08SS
Fairmont, Ghia, Fairlane and Utes except XRs = 3.23
XR Sedan and Ute = 3.45 LSD
T-Series = 3.45LSD
