Default different temp thermostat

so i've seen a few guys suggest 87 Degree ( i think thats right) thermostat as an up grade mainly for an XR6T application.

wondering;
1.what it does.
2.would it work on my N/A AU

It makes your engine run colder. This causes incomplete combustion and wasted fuel. It also causes the ECU to run a richer mixture therefore also using more fuel.

Yep, it will work on your AU NA. That is, if you want to waste fuel. LOL.

People who think it is an "upgrade" also have fox tails hanging from their twin radio aerials.

a cooler thermostat won`t do much anyway, the ecu will just tell the fans to stay off a bit longer, unless you get it tuned, that`s my belief anyway, it made zero difference to mine except for a tad longer to warm up.
